Fabrice
DeClerck
PhD is a professor of landscape ecology at CATIE where he leads the
Biodiversity in Managed Landscapes Laboratory. He has worked with
numerous conservation and agricultural groups in the US, Latin
America and Africa. Dr. DeClerck’s research focuses on conservation
of biodiversity in managed landscapes, integrating ecology into
development planning, and the functional role of biodiversity in
managed landcapes.
Rachelle DeClerck
BSc.
is an
environmental scientist and educator with numerous years of
experience working with inter-disciplinary consortia. She was the
program director that included education programs public outreach
for the Yolo Basin Foundation in the Central Valley of California
where she designed, managed and implemented an environmental
education program for school children from K-12.
Alejandra Martinez Salinas
MSc
is the lead ornithologist of the PMA at CATIE. She
has participated in numerous bird monitoring and evaluation programs
in the US and in Latin America in conjunction with Ducks Unlimited,
and the Institute of Bird Populations. Alejandra has previously led
workshops on participatory bird monitoring in Nicaragua with several
target groups including bird watching guides and universities.
Mildred
Jimenez
MSc
is a forest engineer with experience in participatory
and communal forestry and is also the manager of Reventazón Model
Forest. The model forest is a network including CATIE and other
local stakeholders of the Cartago province aiming to strengthen the
management of natural resources. She is also part of the
coordination group of VCTBC.
